Seeking the good of the township

About

I live in Wilmot on our family chicken farm, where our daughters are the fifth generation to call the farm home.

Since marrying Aaron and moving to Wilmot four years ago, I have had the privilege of joining a family with deep roots in this community. We are grateful to be cultivating some of the best farmland Ontario has to offer, and we hope one day to pass the farm on to our children.

I believe Wilmot is the best place to live in the Region of Waterloo. I love running into my neighbours at the grocery store and pulling our carts aside for a chat. I love our trail systems, our heritage sites, and our recreation centre, all tucked away from the busyness of neighbouring cities. Our township hums with character, community and a strong sense of place.

Before moving to Wilmot, I worked on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, as well as in other policy and communications roles. This gave me an early understanding of how government functions and the work required to make good public policy. It also taught me that public trust depends on leaders who listen carefully, explain their decisions clearly, and follow through.

Running for council is my way of giving back to the community I love and serving the generation coming after us. I want the decisions we make today to strengthen our community without losing sight of the Wilmot our children will inherit.

My Commitments

Financial Discipline

As Wilmot grows, affordability must be a top priority for council. I will be a diligent and responsible steward of your tax dollars. I will work to make the investments our community needs and keep taxes and spending in check.

Rural Representation

Farmers and rural residents are an essential part of Wilmot’s fabric. We bring practical knowledge of the land, a deep connection to this community’s heritage and an understanding of the distinct challenges of rural life. I will ensure these perspectives have a strong voice on council while faithfully serving every resident of Ward Two.

Principled Leadership

The leaders we elect must be worthy of our trust. I promise to lead with transparency and integrity.

Residents should never have to wonder whether their councillor has heard them. I will be accessible and responsive, explain the reasons behind my decisions and remain accountable to residents. I will approach the job with energy and persistence, stand by my convictions and listen carefully to those who see things differently.

I would be honoured to earn your trust and serve as your voice on Wilmot council.
